Anyone Can Be an Entrepreneur
"Anyone Can Be an Entrepreneur." - That's what Edwin Clemons, Owner of RICHFITZ LA wants the world to to know.
Edwin from South Central, Leimert Park grew up living with a few different family members. At an early age he thought he'd be an NBA Star. Sports were his main focus for as a kid. At least, until about the 11th grade. That’s when trouble started for Edwin.
"I began to hang with the wrong crowds of friends. "- At the time Edwin's new friends were more appealing and, seemingly more accepting. "It seemed like mimicking their behavior and acting out was the way to go. It was more fun than basketball." ....- Until, he was arrested and sent to a detention facility.
After doing some time Edwin knew he had to make some changes in his life. After high school he was forced to grow up fast. Leaving his aunts home, bouncing around house to house, couch to couch, then the birth of his son Roland.
- "Becoming a father completely changed my perspective on life. My immediate concern was, How am I going to take care of a family” I was used to warehouse jobs, and low paying jobs that never lasted long. Deep down in my spirit I knew I could do better, and should be making more money. I’ve always had this idea to create something that I could monetize. I’ve tried making a board game, making my own hair brush, anything to make some cash. Until one day I was brainstorming my strengths and weaknesses."
That's where RICHFITZ LA was born. RICHFITS LA is a brand where people can feel rich in their outfits at an affordable price.
In less than a year Edwin has already put a team together and is selling merchandise at a local clothing store on 37th street in Los Angeles.
"Let’s make our culture a better place and show there are different outlets instead of trying be a ball player, a corner boy or whatever stereotype that’s attached to you. My plan is to show that anyone can be an entrepreneur and run their own business."- Said Edwin.
