Pride Roc Chicago: Saving Young Adult Lives In the Windy City

Pride ROC is on a mission to bring a radical new model of healing to the lives of young Black men who have experienced deep systemic trauma.

Pride Roc Chicago is a non-profit organization working to empower youth and young adults in the Windy City since 2019.

The Passage Program is the organization's key initiative, which aims to provide mentorship, education, and resources to youth who are transitioning to adulthood.

The Passage Program is designed to support youth aged 16-24 who are experiencing homelessness, are at risk of homelessness, gang related issues, or are facing other challenges related to their identity or living situation. The program provides a range of services, including case management, financial assistance, and education and job training programs.

One of the core components of the Passage Program is Mentorship. Youth are paired with adult mentors who provide guidance, support, and encouragement as the youth navigate the challenges of transitioning to adulthood.

In addition to mentorship, the Passage Program also provides financial assistance to youth who are in need. This may include help with rent, utilities, or other expenses that can be barriers to stability and independence. The program also offers education and job training programs, such as GED preparation classes, job readiness workshops, and vocational training.

Pride Roc Chicago's Passage Program is helping youth build brighter futures for themselves.

This program is a testament to the importance of community-based organizations in addressing the needs of marginalized and vulnerable populations, and it serves as a model for other organizations seeking to make a positive impact in their communities.
